An annual fixture in Gawthorpe, a hamlet in the English county of West Yorkshire, and forming part of a weekend festival, will once again showcase the World Coal Carrying Championships. Chile's Topocalma, located southwest of the capital Santiago, becomes the home of the next major Professional Windsurfers Association World Cup Tour

The third major event of the FIA/FIM World Rally-Raid Championship takes us to Portugal and Spain beginning on Tuesday. The race will cover a course of 1000 kilometres of technical roads.

The ski and snowboard season is coming to an end, but there are still junior competitions to look out for. Moguls experts gather in Italy's Chiesa in Valmalenco on Wednesday to compete in the FIS Freestyle Junior Ski World Championships. Chess fans will be eagerly anticipating the start of the 2024 FIDE Candidates Tournament for both men and women in Canada's Toronto. We mentioned the major ice hockey event. New York State's Utica hosts the IIHF Ice Hockey Women's World Championship as the United States look to defend their title. 

Thursday begins in Armenia's Yerevan as the capital city hosts the World Sambo Cup. Croatia's fourth-largest city, Osijek, entertains senior artistic gymnasts featuring in the FIG World Challenge Cup

Max Verstappen leads Charles Leclerc by four points as the FIA Formula One World Championship spends the weekend at the Suzuka International Racing Course, round 4 of the season. Joining on Friday is Stop 1 of the World Aquatics Artistic Swimming World Cup in Beijing. We remain in China for one of the most popular and sought-after titles of the World Rugby SVNS Series. Hong Kong is preparing for the weekend rugby festival. Georgia's Gudauri hosts the junior snowboarders in the FIS Snowboard Cross World Championship. Synchronized skating is the discipline in Croatia's Zagreb at the International Skating Union World Championships. The Hamar trekkhundklubb in Norway is the organiser of the next International Federation of Sleddog Sports World Cup. Enduro Grand Prix fans have been patiently waiting on the start of the new season. Round 1 of the FIM Enduro GP World Championship opens in Portugal's Fafe. The Bolivarian Games, a regional multi-sport event held in honour of Simón Bolívar, and organized by the Bolivarian Sports Organization, is open to athletes from Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, Peru, and Venezuela. Bolivia's Sucre hosts the Youth on this occasion until April 14. 

Two World Rock'n'Roll Confederation World Cup competitions begin on Saturday, with Hungary's Budapest and Sweden's Kumla as the locations. There are also two main events beginning on Saturday for fishing sport experts. Italy's Viterbo features the World Championships Long Casting of Sea Weights, while the popular Ibiza becomes the home of the World Championships Boat Angling Clubs. This weekend is the International Ski Mountaineering World Cup Finals at Cortina d'Ampezzo in Italy. The Netherland's Heerenveen brings up the final round of the FIM Ice Speedway World Championship. Surf-Freestyle and Freefly-Slalom are the disciplines in France's Leucate at the Global Wingsports Association World Cup Tour

Sunday begins with the MXGP of Sardegna, round 3 of the FIM Motocross World Championship. Division II, Group A compete in Andorra's Canillo at the next International Ice Hockey Federation Women's World Championship
